The Medical Biller & Coder is trained to work with health-related information and the systems used to collect, process, store, retrieve, and communicate information for the support of operations, management, and decision making with a medical facility or related industry. As computerization of information advances, the Medical Biller & Coder is vital to medical coding, computerized billing and patient care data analysis.
The Medical Billing & Coding program is designed to provide a sound educational environment for instruction and training to equip its graduates for entry-level positions as Medical Billers & Coders.
Each course stands alone as a unit of study and is not dependent upon prerequisite training. A student may enter the program at the beginning of any course and continue through the sequence until completion of all courses. The course work consists of lecture/demonstration and hands on computer laboratory procedures.
Students will complete an externship in a medical setting, after successfully completing all classroom courses.
